Sterling plans expansion in Gujarat

Sterling Hospitals, owned and managed by Sterling AddLife India, is planning to invest Rs 150 crore for its expansion in Gujarat.

The company is likely to launch its hospitals in Surat, Rajkot, Bhavnagar and Vadodara which are currently in various stages of completion. While, its Rajkot hospital is likely to be operational shortly, the Bhavnagar hospital is under construction. The new facility at Vadodara is slated to be fully operational by 2011.

The company already has two satellite centres in Kalol and Mehsana and a multi-specialty tertiary care hospitals in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Mundra.

Meanwhile, Sterling has signed an 'owned & managed' (O&M) agreement with a city based builder to develop a 100 bed facility adjacent to its existing set up at Vadodara. On completion, this facility is likely to help Sterling Hospital, Vadodara to boost its capacity to 210 beds. It is already running a hospital at Mundra under O&M agreement and is likely to expand through this model in future.
