Hindujas to establish second hospital in Mumbai

The Hinduja Group intends to set up its second hospital in Mumbai and expand the capacity of its existing Mumbai hospital as a part of its pan-India expansion plans.

Hinduja Healthcare, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the group is likely to develop the second hospital in Mumbai. The proposed 100-bed hospital is to be build with an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore at Khar in Mumbai and is expected to be ready by April 2010.

The expansion of the existing Mumbai hospital includes renovation of the building, construction of a new building and capacity expansion from 350 to 600 beds at an estimated investment of Rs 250 crore.

This apart, plans are afoot to set up 10-12 hospitals across India.
