2010 Commonwealth Games completely secure, says minister

The Games have been secured from ‘above the ground, below the ground and on the ground,’ stated Minister of State for Home Ajay Maken.

Minister of State for Home Ajay Maken said on Wednesday that the 2010 Commonwealth Games (CWG) in Delhi will be completely secure. He reiterated that the government would take every possible step to ensure that the prestigious event goes without any untoward incident.

Addressing the two-day Conference of Security Liason officers of Commonwealth countries and representatives of Commonwealth Games Associations (CGAs), Maken said the security for the games have been designed in such a way that no terror outfit can affect the proceedings of the game. This is the second such meeting of its kind, the first was held 3 weeks ago, at which several countries had expressed their nervousness about security.
